Daves Faves for Menzies Fine Art Auction 9 April 2025

Nicholas Harding painting

On 9 April 2025, hot on the heels of the Smith and Singer sale, Menzies present their 137 lot strong offer in their first major fine art auction of the season in Sydney.

As a broader offering, the Menzies selection has a wider choice for  collectors on a variety of budgets, and with a variety of tastes.

For lovers of times past, the five Australian bush scenes by James Alfred Turner will be a true treat.

Norman Lindsay aficionados can choose from several alluring nudes, whilst admirers of Albert Namatjira’s central Australian landscapes are presented with two stunning examples.

There are also a pair of Brett Whiteley birds on paper as well as two still life paintings by modernist master Grace Cossington Smith to choose from.

As David loves a good print, he has included not just the last, but the last three offerings of the night, from a delightful hand-signed Picasso etching via a suite of Whiteley prints paying homage to Van Gogh, and last but not least a decidedly less reverential Banksy.
