Important Singler Owner Art Collections at Smith and Singer

It’s not everyday that you’ll find two important single owner art collections offered in one evening. Smith & Singer managed the coup spectacularly for their 24 July 2024 fine art auction in Melbourne.

Included are 20 paintings from the estate of “Mr Melbourne” Ron Walker AC CBE and 28 works by Arthur Boyd from the collection of retired art dealer Denis Savill.

In the Ron Walker collection, several outstanding large paintings by Australian modern masters Brett Whiteley, John Olsen and Charles Blackman are for the first time on the market since they were purchased.

Denis Savill’s love and eye for Arthur Boyd is obvious in these select paintings, among them two small gems painted on copper and Boyd’s iconic large shoalhaven landscapes.

If you are looking to enhance your own museum-quality collection of important Australian art, you could not to better than to look for an addition from this offering of 48 artworks.

Auction details are available at Smith and Singer.
